The 1980s saw a steady start for Mansfield on the kit front with the first three seasons of the decade having the same kit. This all changed in 1983/84 with the introduction of a new manufacturer in Lowfields and also the introduction of the club's first ever shirt sponsor.
The 1980s were a period for success for the club culminating in the clubs Freight Rover Trophy success in 1986/87 at Wembley. A true high point in the club's history.
